Kuo added that in order to target the low-end and mid-range smartphone markets, Apple is also working on a new LCD model with a large 6.1-inch display, which will "differ significantly" from the OLED models. Apple has found that there is a software bug that's causing the issue and is working on a fix via a software update which will be arriving soon, most probably in iOS 11.2, which is now in beta testing stage. Kuo doesn't make any predictions about the prices for the two OLED phones, but considering that the iPhone X sells for $999 / £999 / AU$1,579, there's little doubt that the bigger of the two will certainly be much more expensive. TrueDepth Camera features like Face ID, Animoji, and Portrait mode selfies are exclusive to the iPhone X this year but should spread across the line next year.
The crackling sound occurs on affected iPhones with any kind of audio playback, including phone calls, music, videos with sound, alarms and ringtones.
In fact, Kuo also provided a few more details about the two OLED phones.
According to users on Reddit, the company is replacing the damaged units with the newer phone, so, if you have an iPhone X with the similar problem head towards the authorized service center to replace the faulty device.
The iPhone X comes with a double speaker front-facing earpiece which combines with the speakers at the bottom of the device to deliver stereo sound.
