Augmented Reality 'Harry Potter' Mobile Game Coming In 2018

The title of the AR game is "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" and it is being co-developed by Warner Bros.

Gamers would couldn't get enough of the insanely popular "Pokemon Go" app past year will soon have a new mobile obsession, with the news that the same developers are now taking a crack at the "Harry Potter" franchise. Interactive Entertainment and WB Games to develop the new game. Not quite as simple as Harry Potter Go or anything like that, this one is going to be called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Niantic is not very good at keeping up with customer expectations but if they spoil the Harry Potter game, well let's just say they will be disappointing an entire generation!

Niantic Labs had tremendous success with Pokémon Go, which paired their expertise in building location-based augmented reality mobile experiences with a top-flight IP with a ravenous fan base.

Next Games introduced The Walking Dead: Our World in August, and now, Niantic's next AR project is reportedly Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Explore real-world neighbourhoods and cities to discover mysterious artifacts, learn to cast spells, and encounter legendary beasts and iconic characters along the way! They use Augmented Reality to overlay graphics on real-world locations, encouraging players to walk their neighborhood to reveal new secrets. Interactive and Portkey Games (a studio responsible for Harry Potter games).
