On Friday, the arctic blast brought freezing mark early Friday evening with temperatures dropping to 26 degrees in Central Park, shattering a 103-year-old record of 27 degrees.
Temperatures will remain consistent through Tuesday and Wednesday as both have a high of 46 degrees with a high of 46 degrees.
"Root said the cold front will also usher in windy conditions and northwesterly gusts of up to 40 miles per hour will make the afternoon high of 38 degrees feel more like the mid-20s". Root said the normal high temperature for this time of year is 57 degrees.
The forecast calls for 50 degrees on Monday, setting off eight straight days with high temps of at least 50, AccuWeather said.
Temperatures will remain well below average throughout the weekend, Root said, only reaching the mid-40s on Saturday and Sunday. A light southerly breeze is forecast.
