Real Madrid's Gareth Bale suffers another injury setback

Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid were excited at the prospect of having Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo back after the global break but this latest setback put the skids on a BBC reunion for now as further news on the injury is yet to be reported.

However, the Spanish club decided that Bale would not join his national team this week and instead remain in Madrid with a view to making a possible comeback at Atletico Madrid in the derby on November 18.

The new injury will increase speculation that he could be sold by Real Madrid, who could use his fee to reinvest in new recruits.

Isco admits that Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale "is having a hard time", having been ruled out of action for a further month or so. In four full seasons, he has lifted the Champions League three times and scored 70 goals.

"Protected by the hierarchy since he arrived as part of the non-negotiable BBC, he hasn't made himself important", AS added in their analysis.

As patience wears thin in Madrid, the potential for a return to England's Premier League, where Bale was twice Players' Player of the Year with Spurs, remains a strong possibility.

Bale suffered a calf injury towards the end of that game and missed Wales' final two World Cup qualifiers last month as a result.
