With HTC's own Oreo build for the U11 now being ready for deployment, the company's wireless carrier partners are also already in the process of optimizing their own versions of the firmware and should begin distributing them in the coming months.
If you have the unlocked variant of the HTC U11 you can manually check for the update by going into Settings About Software updates Check now.
The information regarding the software update came from the company's VP of Product Management Mo Versi via a Twitter post, last week.
Since update rollouts happen in phases, it may take a while before all Sony Xperia X Performance devices get upgraded to Android Oreo. HTC seems to be on the right track, as it already released the update in its homeland, Taiwan, and the United States is already getting the update too. Apart from this, users will get the goodness of Android Oreo.
With Oreo on your phone, your world will be opened up to native Picture-in-Picture, notification dots, autofill, and much more.
Sony's widely using phone Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs has started gaining the new android update of Android 8.0 Oreo. The newly released U11 Life has also been added to this list of smartphones said to have the update out soon. It will be interesting to see whether HTC's update brings any major UI overhaul to the existing version of Sense UI. If you're someone who doesn't live in the Americas, you should expect a separate update in the next few weeks.
