University of Miami fan, officer altercation now under investigation by police

A disturbing video has surfaced from No. 9 Miami's 28-10 win over No. 13 Virginia Tech on Saturday night.

Police said Farrington lured the victim and her brother into her bedroom and then suffocated Tania with a pillow.

The moment was captured in a viral 14-second video where the heavily intoxicated fan is seen being carried out of the stadium during a match between Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said that the department is now viewing the video to make sure the proper procedures were followed in the incident that took place at the Hard Rock Stadium, during Miami's win Saturday over Virginia Tech.

Police have charged a 30-year-old nurse with felony battery on a police officer for her part in a videotaped altercation with a detective at a University of Miami football game. According to the report, the officers tried to calm Frietas down and move her to the stadium concourse.

He said the investigation was still ongoing on Sunday morning.

While the woman was being carried on top of the policemen's shoulders, she swings her hand and tries to hit the head of one of the policemen carrying her.

According to an arrest report, Farrington was at home with her two children on Halloween when she became upset because Tania talked back to her.

A Miami-Dade Police statement says a man throwing out garbage Sunday found the body of Tania Paige inside the trash bin at his apartment complex southwest of Miami. She did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

University of Miami officials said they were aware of the video and were also gathering information.
