Simply say "OK Waze", and it will start listening out for your Waze Voice Commands.
The new motorbike option will make Waze more useful and enjoyable for those who enjoy riding on two wheels, and the Talk to Waze feature allows complete handsfree interaction with a new hotword "Ok Waze".
The navigation app (which is owned by Google's parent company Alphabet) just announced a slew of new features in "one of its biggest updates ever", just in time for the holidays.
"Whether you're riding with one passenger or more; in a hybrid, electric, or clean-fuel vehicle; with a special pass; or a combination of all of the above, Waze will determine your optimal route".
Waze's new voice command feature allows users to initiate hands-free control by saying the phrase "OK Waze".
New is a motorcycle vehicle type option, joining "private" and "taxi", which will offer specialized routing optimized for motorcyclists.
Waze chose to implement these products by selecting some of the most-requested features offered up by its community of engaged users, the company says, and they definitely do sound like they'll boost overall convenience for fans of Waze navigation. Waze now has support for carpooling lanes, the first on all navigations apps at large.
Finally, we come to high occupancy vehicle, or HOV, route support. It's worth noting here that while it is only available in English to begin with, it will expand to additional languages in the future. These settings will vary by city, but you can tell the app if you've got an eligible fuel-efficient vehicle or if you have a carpool.
HOV route support is now open to Wazers in 22 markets across the USA (full list below), and in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Talk to Waze is now available for English-speaking Wazers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Ireland, and New Zealand, and will continually roll out in more languages soon.
Drivers using the application's new motorcycle mode will receive route recommendations based on data from motorcyclists.
You can activate "Motorcycle" as your vehicle type in settings.
