Amazon Alexa can now wake you up with music - here's how

Alongside other Echo devices, the new feature is likely to be put to use on the Echo Spot, due out December 19, which Amazon bills as a smart alarm clock.

E-commerce giant, Amazon has made a decision to give the users of its Alexa-powered range of devices an early Christmas gift by deciding to roll out a new feature which will let you set the music of your choice as an alarm to wake you up in the morning or for any other task. For this users can simply ask Alexa to grab them a holiday recipe and Alexa will cook up a tasty recipe that will be sure to grab everyone's attention at the table during the big day. You can choose from Amazon Music or any music app available.

This new feature works with a number of music streaming services, including Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, SiriusXM, and iHeartRadio.

"Alexa, ask The Capitals how many goals Nicklas Backstrom has?". Choose your music service, artist, genre, radio station, or song saved in your device.

One way to start your day on a positive note is to set your alarm clock to the sound of your favorite song or genre of music.

If you're an Amazon Music subscriber, you get a few extra features on top of this. Finally, Amazon Music subscribers in particular are also given the option of telling Alexa to wake them up with a song with specific lyrics, an option for those who know the song but can't remember its name. If you trust Alexa to be the ideal breakfast DJ, just say: "Alexa, wake me up at [time] with music".
