Anthony Davis was already having a pretty bad day.
New Orleans faces another tough test on Monday when it takes on the defending champion Golden State Warriors for the third time this season. He was injured as he battled for a rebound with Utah's Derrick Favors underneath the basket with 11:35 left in the game.
Davis (groin) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Portland, Mike Richman of The Oregonian reports. Davis was listed as doubtful to return, and he would not re-enter the game. In the four seasons prior to the 2016-17 campaign, Davis played in no more than 68 games in any single season due to various injuries.
Dan Feldman, with NBC Sports, reported Friday that the league fined Davis for "verbally abusing a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection". Fifteen seconds later, he picked up his second tech and was ejected for the first time in his six-year National Basketball Association career.
