BJP leader Amit Shah's poll rallies scheduled on Tuesday in Rajula town of Amreli and Mahuva and Shihor of Bhavnagar district were cancelled, as were Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's rallies in Morbi, Dhrangadhra and Surendranagar. Fishermen have been warned not to go out into the sea off these coasts on these days otherwise the result may be disastrous. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert Monday, warning fishermen against venturing into the sea as coastal areas are likely to experience strong winds.

Earlier the cyclonic storm passed the Mumbai coast bringing rains in its wake but did not cause any damage to life or property, a senior civic official said in Mumbai.

Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places over Saurashtra and south Gujarat region. Dozens of fishermen were rescued Friday from the sea which is very rough under the influence of Cyclone Ockhi.
