John Mayer Hospitalized for Emergency Appendectomy

John Mayer underwent an emergency appendectomy Tuesday morning, forcing the rocker to postpone a New Orleans Dead & Company show.

John Mayer is on the mend following an emergency appendectomy, his representative confirms to CNN.

Last night the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" singer was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy in New Orleans where he was set to perform on Tuesday evening.

Dead & Company tweeted that all tickets for the December 5 concert will be honored at the rescheduled date. Information on the rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible. He postponed a Tuesday concert with Dead & Company at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

In the case that the fans will not be able to attend the show at another time, they will receive a full refund at the point of purchase.

Mayer plays lead guitar in the group that includes three original members of the legendary Grateful Dead.
