After a lot of rumors and a lot of Xiaomi fans are waiting for next Xiaomi smartphone, Xiaomi is all set to release Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus at an event in China on December 7 and invites for the same have already been sent out.

So, how do Micromax Bharat 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5A stack up in terms of features and specifications? The front shooter is 5MP with 1.4um pixel size, Portrait mode, Time Lapse, Watermark, Beauty mode, and 83.3 degree wide-angle lens. The company claims that the Xiaomi Redmi 5A can last up to 8 days on standby and up to 7 hours of video playback.

The Redmi 5A again looks to be the victor here as it comes sporting a 13-megapixel camera on the backwith f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and LED flash. To the front, it bears a 5-MegaPixel front-facing camera for crisp selfies. It packed in a 2,500mAh removable battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a dual SIM phone, that supports nano SIM cards.

Coming to software, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs the latest MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and is speculated to receive Oreo update down the lane.

While the 2GB RAM variant is available for 16GB, the 3GB RAM model is equipped with 32GB storage capacity. Conectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Bluetooth HID, 801.12 b/g/n, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, 2.4 Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Display. The 2GB+16GB "Desh Ka Smartphone", starts at Rs 4,999 for first 5 million buyers post which it will be available for Rs 5,999 while the Redmi 5A 3GB+32GB is priced at Rs 6,999.

Micromax has tied up with Vodafone to offer new and current subscribers 10GB of extra data for 5 months as long as they have a 1GB data pack active.

- At the end of 12 months, all potential subscribers/buyers will be rewarded with cashback vouchers worth Rs 1,000 in the form of 10 vouchers of Rs 100 denomination. Priced at Rs 5,555, Bharat 5 will be available through offline channels across the country.

As per XDA Developers, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 design is comparable to a variant of the Redmi Note 4 based on the leaks. The company has provided discount only on the 2GB/16GB variant of the phone.
