- A high school soccer player from Florida has been found, and authorities have reportedly arrested the 27-year-old soccer coach they say she was traveling with.
- A 17-year-old Florida girl believed to be on the run with a high school soccer coach and seen last weekend in Fayetteville has been found in NY and is safe, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office tweeted Friday evening.
The Gainesville Sun reported that the girl and Rian Rodriguez were stopped by a New York State Police officer Friday afternoon in Syracuse.
Rian Rodriguez, 27, was taken into custody without incident.
Frisina's parents say he's also a family friend.
The teen had left her home on her own, leaving behind her phone, "which she fully erased", the Columbia County Sheriff's office said in a Facebook post on Sunday. It wasn't immediately clear what criminal charges he would face.
Caitlyn Frisina of Lake City had been missing since Saturday. "But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled", Scarlett Frisina told CBS.
"We are looking forward to a lot more time together and being able to get back home and move forward as a family", she added. But investigators said she was unharmed.
Frisina and Rodriguez were spotted on cameras in Georgia on Sunday and then at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Rodriguez was a coach for the boys' soccer team at Fort White High School in Fort White, Fla.
Authorities said earlier this week it appeared "a potential relationship" was blossoming between Frisina and Rodriguez before the teen's disappearance.
