The NYPD is now investigating Russell Simmons for the multiple claims of sexual abuse and assault being laid against him.

The NYPD has created a specialized team to handle high-profile sexual assault accusations.

Keri Claussen Khalighi, 43, claimed in a Los Angeles Times story last week that she was forced to perform oral sex on Russell Simmons at her apartment in 1991 as Brett Ratner looked on, and then raped by the hip-hop impresario while she was showering after that first offense.

Kelly Cutrone, a high-powered PR pro and former star of MTV's The Hills, accused hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of attempting to rape her.

"I have re-dedicated myself to spiritual learning, healing and working on behalf of the communities to which I have devoted my life". She described the incident, she met Simmons at a party, had a casual acquaintance, they ended up dropping by an apartment which she believes belonged to the now disgraced music mogul. "These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core and all of my relations have been consensual", he told the New York Times in a statement on Thursday, adding, "The presumption of innocent until proven guilty must not be replaced by 'Guilty by Accusation'". "I am devastated by any reason I may have given to anyone to say or think of me in the ways that are now being described".

"His post was accented with large type text reading: "#NOTME".

Dozens in the entertainment industry, politics and beyond have been accused of sexual misconduct as part of the #MeToo movement. "It's just a statement about my innocence", Simmons wrote in a post.

As Simmons continues to vehemently deny all allegations, NYPD has chose to open up an investigation on the Def Jam cofounder.

Cutrone is only going public now because she's upset that Simmons launched #NotMe on Instagram for men to refute sexual accusations.

Simmons said he would be sharing evidence today and on Friday regarding the case of Jenny Lumet, a writer who wrote an open letter to him saying he had sexually assaulted her in 1991. By then, he had founded several other companies, such as Rush Communications. "While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely and humbly apologize".
