One such game is Overwatch, which will host its Winter Wonderland event for the second year in the row beginning next week.
As you'd expect, the Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back, dropping on December 12th.
The holidays are upon us, and you know what that means: new Overwatch stuff.
Overwatch's Winter Wonderland returns next week on Tuesday.
Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan has stated that new legendary skins will make it to the game for heroes such as Hanzo, Junkrat, and Road Hog. The Winter Wonderland exclusive mode is now playable on both the Ecopoint Antarctica and Black Forest maps, and it's joined by a new "silly and ridiculous" mode known as Mei's Yeti Hunt.
The cornerstone of the event will be a new game mode, a kind of "boss fight" that will see five Meis fighting one "Yeti" that's actually a Winston. The Ecopoint: Antarctica map is also in the mix alongside the black Forest arena, along with winterized versions of numerous game's maps to coincide with the event.
You'll get a good long look at the newly winter-ised Black Forest during the return of Mei's Snowball Offensive brawl. Essentially, it boils down to 5 Mei players taking on resident big lad Winston, who also happens to be player controlled.
In the mode, which takes place on the Nepal map, the Mei players will start out hunting Winston while he tries to evade them and track down stacks of meat. When the Yeti is defeated, the group of Meis wins, whereas if a certain number of Meis die, the Winston player wins. Mei has a new ability that's specific to this mode, Ice Trap, and she can use it along with her usual Ice Wall to fend off the yeti. When the game begins, the Meis must attempt to hunt down and eliminate Winston, while he does he best to avoid detection and snaffle up as many meat power-ups as he can.
