"Feeling furious, disgusted and degraded after an Alaska Airlines flight during which the passenger next to me made repeated lewd, inappropriate, and offensive sexual remarks to me", Randi posted on Facebook.
Zuckerberg said the flight attendants offered to move her to a middle seat in the back of the plane, but she refused because why should she have to move, when she was the one being harassed?
The New York Times noted there is no centralized database where data about sexual harassment on airlines is collected.
Alaska Airlines flight attendants continued serving the man "multiple alcoholic drinks" for the rest of the flight.
Zuckerberg was also irate at Alaska Airlines' staff for "knowingly and willingly providing this man with a platform to harass women".
At one point, she claims the man made a reference on the ongoing sexual harassment scandals in the media, commenting: 'These Millennial women just aren't willing to give some booty to get a job anymore'. "For knowing this behavior and being more concerned with taking his money than for the safety and security of the other passengers around him", she added.
On all these alleged Alaska Airline said on Twitter with their official account, "Recent events involving sexual harassment onboard our aircraft will not be tolerated". They said the man often flys on the same route and they've talked to him about his actions before.
Alaska Airlines has since began an investigation into the incident: "What Randi Zuckerberg shared with us is very disturbing", a spokesman, Ray Lane, said.
"What's infuriating is that as women (ex: the flight attendants) we're programmed to grin & bear it, giggle it off & make excuses for men who don't know how to behave", Venture Capitalist Elizabeth Galbut tweeted in response. We're fully investigating this situation and will take appropriate steps, as needed. "As a company, we have zero tolerance for any type of misconduct that creates an unsafe environment for our guests and our employees".
In the recent times, a number of cases of harassment were faced by flight passengers on board but a lot of them are either brushed aside by authorities or dissolve with time.
