Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) and Notebook 9 Pen announced with upgraded features

Joining the Pen version are the three aforementioned Notebook 9 2018 models, their weights ranging up to 2.84lbs. The devices will be available in select countries starting in December 2017 in Korea, and in the first quarter of 2018 in the U.S. Both the Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 (2018) will be displayed at CES 2018, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas. Samsung says that this will provide the new laptops with some durability while keeping them portable and light. The Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) is powered by the 8th generation of Intel Core i7 processor along with Intel HD Graphics.

The most unfortunate part of the Notebook 9 Pen is the display. The connectivity ports available on the device include USB-C, USB 3.0, HDMI, Dollars card slot, headphone/microphone jack and DC-in.

"The larger 15" model will also offer a Thunderbolt 3 port.

In case you are interested, the 2018 LG Gram goes on sale next month in the United States, and the updated Notebook 9 line launches in Korea this month, with USA availability set to arrive in Q1 2018.

The Notebook 9 Pen comes with a built-in S Pen stylus.

The refined S Pen lets users write, sketch, paint, doodle and more.

If we talk about the Notebook 9 Pen variant, it's a 2-in-1 PC with durable structure and an eye catchy finish. And thanks to the 360-degree hinge, one can use the device either as a laptop or a tablet.

Samsung and LG are both focusing on the battery life this year, just a week after the launch of the first two Windows on ARM devices from HP and Acer that claim to offer up to 20 hours of battery life. This model also comes with its very own S Pen stylus, which can be tucked away on the front edge of the keyboard. It also supports S Pen with 4,096 levels of pressure to doodle or write down on the notebook. The devices run on the 8 generation Intel Core i7 processor and Samsung Dual Channel Memory to handle multiple jobs, viewing and rendering high-quality graphics without compromising on the performance or speed. The device has an inbuilt Intel Graphics with rich graphical interface.

Meanwhile, the laptop's 720p webcam includes an infrared lens for Windows Hello, which is also supported through an embedded fingerprint sensor. For next year's models, Samsung has managed to add a Windows Hello camera to allow Windows 10 to unlock the units using facial recognition, according to The Verge.
