Mohamed Elneny is on the January shortlist of West Ham

Arsenal'open to Coquelin offers

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has been linked in The Mirror with a move to West Ham United in recent days and it is fair to say that the Hammers faithful on Twitter are split over the potential arrival.

Wenger failed to rule a move out, but did refute claims West Ham could be a possible destination.

Arsenal reportedly want £10 million for the player which is a fair amount considering the state of the current day market.

"Its a possibility but nothing is decided", he said during his pre-match press conference, before adding that "we have had no contact with West Ham".

"To West Ham? No". However, there is still lots of work to be done before Moyes and co. can pat themselves on the back for the last few months and capturing Francis Coquelin could be a key factor in determining their safety.

But his progress has stalled over the past two seasons, often finding himself exposed to criticism for his performances in big matches.

Irons boss David Moyes is known to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements during the January transfer window as he looks to guide his team away from the Premier League relegation zone.

Spanish club Valencia made their interest known over the weekend, and they would be keen to reach an agreement soon for the player.

Elneny, 25, has plummeted down Arsene Wenger's midfield pecking order this season with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere and even Coquelin ahead of him.
