A mysterious tweet had some fans believing that Blizzard may be interested in porting Diablo III to Nintendo Switch. A gif was released showing a Diablo themed night light being turned on and off. On one hand, Blizzard giving assurance that it's not clever enough to tease a Switch announcement in such a manner suggests that this was in fact just a fun engagement piece, and not a cryptic announcement.
You can find the Tweet below where a Diablo night lite is switched on a handful of times with no other context other than the text portion of the tweet that reads: "Sweet Dreams". Everyone thought that this meant a South Park game was coming to the Switch, unfortunately it was just a "joke" post that never had any further meaning.
That's certainly disappointing, because if there is a franchise that is a flawless fit for the Switch, it's Diablo.
Original Story: Call me a conspiracy theorist, but Blizzard may be working on Diablo III for Nintendo Switch. "We have nothing to announce".
Blizzard hasn't released a game on a Nintendo console since the year 2000, when StarCraft was ported to the N64. There are many other games at play as well and seems like the Switch market has been nailing down flags. In 2016, on the eve of Nintendo's Switch reveal (when the console was still known as the "NX"), Blizzard tweeted this. That kind of early audience is hard to ignore, so perhaps today's Diablo 3 tease shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Blizzard has since stated that they no longer intend to do so, but we at least know that the console is on the studio's mind.
