After wife’s revolt Shami faces attempt to murder charge

Mohammed Shami denies allegation of matchfixing levelled by wife Hasin Jahan

Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police Praveen Tripathi said that the case had been recorded at Kolkata's Jadhavpur Police Station on the base of a written complaint by the cricketer's wife Hasin Jahan on Thursday. The couple is continuously in the headlines for their statements.

Meanwhile, in a major breakthrough to the incident, the cricketer was booked followed by an FIR, registered with sections of the Indian Penal Code related to domestic violence, criminal intimidation, attempt to murder, and causing hurt with poison.

Some sections are non-bailable and carry prison terms of 10 years or more.

Shami and Jahan got married on April 7, 2014. Mohd Shami and Hasin Jahan met in 2012 at a Kolkata Knight Rider's party.

She said that Shami and his family members had been torturing her for over two years and had even threatened to kill her. A supervisory committee overseeing BCCI affairs said the allegations against Shami put them in a hard position and that his contract was on hold pending review.

Also, Jehan said she is going to take up the issue with the BCCI "if already my lawyer has not done so". Hence Mohammed Shami's name, for the time being, has been withheld from the central contracts that were announced.

Jahan told DNA that Shami insisted that she has physical relationship with his brother. "If this (the abuse) has been happening since five years then why did it come out now' Why did it take five years for it to come out' According to me, this is a well thought out conspiracy against me".

"It's definitely a part of a big conspiracy against me". "Whatever I have posted is just the tip of the iceberg. I've been trying to reach her by phone but she is not picking my calls".

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has denied fresh allegations of match-fixing levelled against him by his wife Hasin Jahan and said he would rather die than do something like this.

Mohammed Shami's off-field life has been taken to the cleaners by his wife, Hasin Jahan. "We have filed police complaint at Lalbazar police headquarters".
