Vikings-Eagles scheduled to open 2018 season, report says

With Cousins under center and the team determined to be the team to beat in the NFC next season, it'll be interesting to see how things pan out during the 2018 campaign for Minnesota.

Dallas was chosen to play in the opening game back in 2012, after the New York Giants were coming off of their fourth Super Bowl championship. Many Cowboys fans had wondered if the division rivalry would be rekindled on that Thursday night, but that faced long odds and precedent otherwise.

The Minnesota redux is probably the marquee game on the home schedule of the Super Bowl champs, because the Vikings caught the biggest fish in free agency, Kirk Cousins.

The NFL's 99th season will kickoff when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Minnesota Vikings, according to multiple media reports. The last two seasons of Cousins against Philadelphia, against Jim Schwartz's defense, should be especially relevant to the game plan on both sides. NY struggled to one of the worst records in the National Football League previous year, although they did make some big moves this offseason when it comes to free agents.

Less than six months until the Vikings kick off their 2018 season.

The Vikings will come in with a brand new starting quarterback, but one who is very familiar with the Philadelphia Eagles.
