Cowboys Release Dez Bryant

The Dallas Cowboys have chose to part ways with longtime wide receiver Dez Bryant.

What will Bryant's market be like? Stephen may have been the most public about his concerns, but I believe offensive coordinator Scott Linehan lobbied the hardest for Bryant's release, based on conversations I've had with folks in the organization. And that includes each one of the Dallas Cowboys' divisional rivals.

Certainly, they have the need, with a secondary that a year ago struggled to make plays (just 10 interceptions) and the expectation that Byron Jones will move from free safety to cornerback. So they needed to replace two or three of the receivers.

The Green Bay Packers are a team that needs a receiver. There was also a lawsuit, now settled, with Royce West over the condition in which Bryant left a home he was renting from the state senator. Somewhere in the NFC East, perhaps? Is Odell Beckham Jr., still in a class of his own? "I'm going to keep proving that on and off the field", Bryant said. "I will always love y'all... forever Dallas in my heart", Dez tweeted. He might be looking for vengeance.

The next year, Bryant and his entourage got kicked of NorthPark Center in March because mall security didn't like their sagging trousers, and the wide receiver was sued over an unpaid $500,000 jewelry bill.

While Hurns is the most likely candidate to be the No. 1 receiver, the Cowboys could take a wideout in the first round for the first time since getting Bryant. Bryant was reportedly not offered a pay cut, which he previously said he would've rejected anyway.

The Bengals have already spent a great deal of draft capital the last couple of years on the wide receiver position and still have yet to see how those players will be in more effective roles.

Bryant, who was scheduled to make $12.5 million in 2018 and count $16.5 million against salary cap, let it be known via social media that the Cowboys were responsible for ending his eight-year relationship with the club.

Whether or not GMs around the league share these players' interests, Bryant is definitely a guy that a lot of players would like to have in their locker rooms come August and beyond.

The 49ers have a decent wide receiver duo with Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon, but look how much they have invested in Jimmy Garoppolo.

Maybe Bryant could resurrect his career with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball.
