America's venerable sport in video game form is a steal this May for Gold members, and these members will have until May 31 to nab the title for free on the Xbox One, too.
For the month of May, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games - two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 - as part of the Games with Gold program.
The video game release schedule has slowed down considerably this spring (as it always does), especially for the Xbox One. Set in Afghanistan and Zaire, "Phantom Pain" follows mercenary leader Snake in his quest for revenge.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is a 2015 game from Hideo Kojima. Sadly though, it was his last entry into the series prior to his split with the publisher. Starting next week, Streets of Rage will be available for Xbox 360 owners, and Mega Baseball 2 will be available for Xbox One owners.
For the latter half of May gamers are treated to Platinum games' fast paced third person shooter, Vanquish.
Vanquish was released back in 2010 and received mixed reviews with a short campaign and no multiplayer.
Also, remember that even if you own a physical copy of the games on offer it's still worth grabbing the free digital copy as you will then no longer need the disc to play. Those include The Witness, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and Dead Space 2.
