Jurgen Klopp's Reds were much-changed from their midweek 3-0 defeat of Manchester City in the Champions League with Mo Salah out injured and Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain among those on the bench.

Everton offered very little going forward however, and Liverpool dominated possession for most of the game, but lacked any real cutting edge themselves. Hitting thumbs down is a vote to push that player closer to the bottom. We controlled it for 60 or 70 minutes, we had plenty of chances and we had the biggest chance of the first half.

With just a few games left in the season and Trent Alexander Arnold doing well for the team, we don't see him getting many chances for rest of the season. "It was a clean sheet against a good Liverpool side, though, and to get the fans behind us we need to play from the first minute".

Pickford, who was watched by England manager Gareth Southgate, said: "The first feeling is we got the clean sheet which we've been drilling for a while".

"I only think about doing my job for the team".

"Sadio was a threat, especially in the first half".

Dominic Solanke, on his first start since New Year's Day, should have scored his first Liverpool goal when Seamus Coleman diverted a cross from Nathaniel Clyne, making his first appearance of the season, into his path but he shot straight at Jordan Pickford.

"I don't feel on trial".

Calvert-Lewin had one further chance before full-time, coming in off the left-hand side but failing to hit the target, settling the game at a point a piece for each side. The job was to work hard and enjoy the game, really, and then get a result and they were like this. Fielding Ragnar Klavan at left-back was a risk but Everton could not exploit it. It was a good performance, it was not brilliant, but maybe the most mature we've played since I was in. It's clear, everyone spoke about it all week that Everton didn't win for I don't know how long...
