Cooper Says Dern Is A "Disgrace", But Will Take Catchweight Fight

Considering Cooper is now essentially a "strawweight vs flyweight", it's no wonder Cooper is perturbed with Dern's extra 7.4 pounds.

It's UFC 224 Embedded 6 and Ultimate Media Day brings out the fighters' inner fashionistas, as they don apparel ranging from nice dresses to short shorts to bathrobes. Cooper, however, has agreed to proceed with the contest, but she will reportedly receive 30% of Dern's purse.

Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Cooper were scheduled to fight at UFC 224 at the women's strawweight limit.

She made weight prior to her split decision victory over Ashley Yoder in her UFC debut in March. Dern redeemed herself in a big way Saturday night in Brazil.

The start of the fight saw Dern looking for power-punches and the moment she looked for eventually came with a fully committed right hand that dropped the 26-year-old.

Dern appeared significantly bigger as the two fighters made their way to the octagon.

Despite the weigh-in slip-up by Dern, she and Cooper will still be part of a main card that will be main-evented by Amanda Nunes defending her bantamweight title against Raquel Pennington. Dern moved to full mount and deftly took the back!
