AIIMS has released a statement on Yadav's condition, stating that he has improved significantly. He has improved significantly and as per advise of the medical board constituted for his treatment, he is being referred back to Ranchi Medical College for management of his chronic issues.
The medical institute had formed a board comprising senior faculty members from the departments of medicine, surgery and cardiology.

Lodging of cases relating to benami land transactions against Tejashwi Yadav by the Enforcement Directorate and IT Department had triggered a political upheaval in the state in July a year ago and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had walked out of the Grand Alliance comprising his JD (U), RJD and the Congress and returned to the BJP-led NDA. The Congress party though has criticized the harsh sentences given to the RJD chief in the fodder scam cases, maintained distance from the latter since the convictions in a series of scams. He was convicted in the first fodder scam case in 2013 and awarded five years in jail.
Earlier in the day, Congress President Rahul Gandhi dropped in the old private ward of AIIMS to meet Lalu Yadav and the two leaders had a long private conversation.
Lalu, who has been lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail at Hotwar near the Jharkhand capital since December 23, was brought to RIMS on March 17 after he complained of acute pain.
Shah during his election campaign rally in Kolar said, "During UPA rule, Rahul Gandhi had torn the ordinance which could save now fodder scam convict Lalu Yadav. This dual face of Rahul Gandhi is exposed", Mr Shah tweeted. The 2013 ordinance was meant to prevent convicted legislators from being disqualified.
The RJD launched a strong political counter with its leaders echoing the charge of their supremo. AIIMS sources said that in the melee, the supporters broke a glass door which left a security guard injured.
The RJD's main rival in Bihar BJP's ally JDU top stepped into the ring. "My pressure and sugar keep shooting up", said the former Bihar CM.
