Instead of breathing fire, a dragon float in the Festival of Fantasy Parade inside Magic Kingdom caught fire.
The flames were extinguished shortly after.
The float, inspired by Walt Disney's 1959 animated classic Sleeping Beauty, depicts green-skinned dark fairy Maleficent in her purple-and-black dragon form.
Videos show a worker using a fire extinguisher on the dragon, which continued to bob its head.
No visitors or employees were hurt, and the local fire service is investigating the cause. Later, parts of its head piece appear to flake off and fall to the street.
According to park visitors, the flames were put out quickly and no one seemed to be injured. The parade soundtrack merrily continues as characters for later floats are seen dancing before being rerouted to return backstage.
Another park employee is stationed towards the rear, while additional costumed cast members travel by foot. The Maleficent float is damaged from the incident, though it is unclear if or how this will affect the daily operation of the "Festival of Fantasy" parade in Magic Kingdom.
