Mohamed Salah insists he can not be compared with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as he is yet to consistently perform over a prolonged period of a number of years.

Although he has been linked with money-spinning moves to China, the 30-year-old poured scorn on the likelihood of ever leaving Barca.

Messi starred alongside Neymar for four trophy-laden seasons at Camp Nou, and confessed it would be hard to see his friend join Barcelona's fierce rivals.

"It would be bad [if Neymar moved to Madrid] because of everything he means to Barcelona", Messi said in an interview with Argentina's TyC Sports.

'And on a football level, it would make Madrid much stronger than they already are'. We're the first to want to become champions, to win.

Messi added: "I always want to improve myself and I do not compete with anyone because I do not play to be the best in history but to improve myself year after year and to keep winning".

When asked if he was open to a move from Barca after playing for the senior team for 14 long years, Messi said, "I am not tempted to leave Barcelona".

Messi, though, says he is not interested in striving to be acknowledged as the very best, even though watching Ronaldo and Madrid prepare for a third European final in a row has given him an extra drive to succeed.

As it is, Barcelona look set to end the season 12 points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid-their final game of the season is against Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on Sunday. "It's the best team in the world, the best city, and my children already have friends [there]". I do not need change.

But if they meet in the World Cup final this summer, watch out. The Ligue 1 player of the year said: "My goal now is the World Cup".
