Fan rushes to scene of XXXTentacion's death

Rapper XXXTentacion shot dead in Florida

Rapper XXXTentacion reportedly shot in Florida

Police in Broward County said XXXTentacion aka Jahseh Onfroy, was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

'Onfroy was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach shortly before 4pm when he was approached by two armed suspects in an apparent robbery.

On Tuesday morning, workers continued building a 6-foot (2-meter) wall around the property of the newly built home where XXXTentacion lived in Parkland, the same suburb of Fort Lauderdale where a gunman fatally shot 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February.

Broward Sheriff confirmed the tragic news in a statement posted on Twitter to their 105,000 followers.

The Sheriff's Office confirmed that the male was rapper XXXTentacion.

The local Broward Sheriff's Office told TMZ that "at least one of the suspects fired a gun and struck the rapper before fleeing in a dark-colored S.U.V. Mr. Onfroy was transported to a local hospital". The record found a fan in rapper Kendrick Lamar, who tweeted, "Listen to this album if you feel anything".

Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy was just 20 years old.

Rapper J Cole hailed the star's "enormous talent and limitless potential".

Author of USA successes as SAD! and Moonlight, XXXTentacion gained prominence after the release of their first album, 17, last August. In October 2016, he was arrested on charges of false imprisonment, witness tampering, and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim - his former girlfriend - ultimately facing 15 felony charges in the case.

A subsequent tweet said, "next time make sure you kill me so I can't talk (expletive)".

"I at least want to know that the kids perceived my message and were able to make something of themselves and able to take my message and use it and turn it into something positive and to at least have a good life", he said. His house arrest had been imposed as he awaited trial for a variety of charges stemming from his alleged violent abuse of an ex-girlfriend. In March, a judge released him from house arrest so that he could tour.
