Had Griezmann been certain of wanting to join Barcelona it is likely the saga would already have been resolved. Marouane Fellaini is far from the most popular player amongst most football fans but wouldn't be the worst free signing given Arsenal's transfer budget. The longer it drags on, the more it seems to favour Atletico instead.

FC Barcelona are often criticised for getting their stars to publicly speak about players who are linked with the club, but that has not stopped superstar Lionel Messi, who has once again discussed the Blaugrana's potential signing of Antoine Griezmann.

'We want to be the best team in the world, and for that we have to look at the best'.

Griezmann's performances this past season were eye catching as well, despite talks of him not being in the right state of mind after his move to Manchester United fell through last summer. "And Griezmann is one of the great players, going through an exceptional moment in his career. When the season begins we want to win everything, including the League and Cup, they're also important for us". But, there are a few complications in Barcelona's pursuit of the French worldwide, which seems to have put the ball in Manchester United's court.

Antoine Griezmann only yesterday performed an apparent U-turn on his impending Barcelona transfer and chose to stay put at Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

But now the French worldwide, who has an £87.5m release clause in his contract, is being linked with a move away from Diego Simeone's side. What appears certain is that Barcelona aren't the favourites to sign him, with a move to Manchester United possible as well.
