Mohamed Salah responds to Sergio Ramos’ comments on tough duel

After being forced off in the Champions League final after just half an hour in Kiev, it was suggested Salah could miss the World Cup finals.

That drew a laugh from Salah who responded by saying: "My comment [to that] is that it's always good when the one who made you cry at first, then makes you laugh". His injury raised fears about his chances for appearing with Egypt at the World Cup, which opens in Russian Federation next week. I don't know. Maybe?

After saying his recovery is going well, Salah remembers "when I hit the floor, there was a mix of physical pain and worry".

The striker, 25, scored 44 goals for Liverpool last season, which helped him be named Premier League Player of the Season and also scored the penalty that confirmed his country's place in Russian Federation.

Egypt opens its World Cup campaign in Russian Federation against Uruguay on June 15, Belgium's first Group G match is against Panama on June 18.

"Yes, it was", Salah added when asked whether having to leave the Champions League final was the worst moment of his career. "Moments later, I also thought about the possibility of not playing in the World Cup and that was a devastating thought", he said.

"I will never give up on our dream".

Eden Hazard has said he will support Egypt at the World Cup in unity with his "friend" Mohamed Salah, who faces a race to be fit for the tournament. "I'm hopeful of being able to play in our first game, but this will depend on how I feel when the day comes around".

He added: "Now I'm better".

Last October, the Liverpool winger scored twice in the win over Congo that qualified Egypt, nicknamed the Pharaohs, for their third finals - and their first since 1990.

The Pharaohs will carry out their final training session in Egypt on Saturday night in Cairo before they travel to Russian Federation on Sunday. And it was something we all said: "wow, we have to do it, we have to do it". We want to make history and achieve something different.

Nigeria, who have lost three of their last four games and drawn the other, kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16, but they looked disinterested during the opening half as the Czechs dominated.
