Peter Fonda Apologizes for Tweet About Barron Trump

"It was wrong and I should not have done it".

The actor's tweets came amid national furor regarding the Trump administration's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy that was enacted earlier this year.

Donald Trump Jr., quickly took to Twitter to state his disgust with Peter Fonda's tweet. In May of this year, the ACLU issued a report that found "widespread allegations of misconduct by US border authorities toward children, including kicking one in the ribs, denying medical attention to a pregnant teen who complained of pain and threatening others with sexual abuse". 90 million people in the street on the same weekend in the country.

In another tweet, also deleted by the actor, Fonda said that protesters should "get the addresses of the Ice Agents CBP agents and surround their homes in protest".

A representative for Fonda told Fox News the tweets were an effort to "make sure that (first lady) Melania and (Trump daughter) Ivanka communicate with the president the dire circumstances of separating mothers and young children".

"The tweet is sick and irresponsible", Grisham said.

Barron's older brother Donald Trump Jr said on Twitter that Fonda was "a bully and a coward" for attacking Barron.

It's not the first time Fonda has targeted the Trump administration on Twitter.

The tweets come as the Trump administration has faced heightened pressure over its USA immigration policies, which in some instances have resulted in the separation of undocumented children from their families.

In his next tweet, Fonda took aim at White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, also calling her a "lying gash" and clarifying that the word "gash" is "much worse than c**t" and suggesting that her children should be taken away from her.

Democratic Socialists of America not only threatened Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant, they have promised to go after other Trump officials as well.

Fonda, 78, made headlines on Wednesday, June 20, for using Barron, 12, to criticize the commander in chief, 72, in a since-deleted tweet.
