XXXTentacion was often described as one of rap's most controversial artists and was facing domestic violence charges.

Rapper XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was shot dead Monday afternoon as he was leaving a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach.

Authorities in Florida say they're searching for two suspects in the fatal shooting of rapper-singer XXXtentacion. A video posted on social networks apparently shows Onfroy's body inside his vehicle.

A representative for the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed to Complex that the man who was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital was Jahseh Onfroy, a.k.a. XXXTentacion.

The Broward County Fire Department told TMZ that X was rushed to a hospital and eyewitness claimed he had no pulse. Fans of the late 20-year-old rapper point to an old video where he declares that he is still alive. "Investigators say it appears to be a possible robbery", the sheriff's office said in a statement posted to its Twitter account. They streaming company shorty reneged on the policy after industry backlash, including Kendrick Lamar, who threatened to remove his music from the streaming site.

The rapper is now awaiting trial on domestic violence charges and was recently freed by a judge after being incarcerated for witness tampering in the case.

Rapper XXXTentacion, center, attended the BET Hip Hop Awards 2017 at The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater on October 6, 2017 in Miami Beach, Florida. TMZ reports XXXTentacion was on house arrest, but a judge recently let him out so he could tour. In 2016, the rapper was accused of beating and strangling his then-pregnant girlfriend.

His music was removed from streaming giant Spotify's curated playlists for several weeks earlier this year because his lyrics allegedly promoted "hateful messages", Pitchfork reported.
