Abrams-led Episode IX, and we have two confirmed trilogies to come after that - one helmed by Last Jedi auteur Rian Johnson, and one written by Game of Thrones scribes David Benioff and D.B.

Solo told the backstory of Han Solo, one of the original trilogy's most beloved characters.

Of the eight Star Wars films released to date, it ranks eighth on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with 71 per cent, ahead of only Attack Of The Clones and the much-derided Phantom Menace.

The new Star Wars trilogy will present a huge challenge for Lucasfilm, once Star Wars IX is released in December, 2019. There was no real need to see it all on the big screen.

As news today came from Collider that Lucasfilm is now placing all its upcoming "Star Wars" spinoff movies in carbonite until further notice, it's kind of telling that there's been no outcry from fans or audiences. Also, despite announcing a Boba Fett standalone movie right before Solo hit theaters, it now appears that the company is pumping the brakes on that as well. You already have Ewan McGregor available to take up the mantle of Obi-Wan Kenobi once more.

With the next wave of LEGO Star Wars sets launching on August 1, some of the products will be based on the recently released Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Would you be sad if the Obi-Wan movie did not materialise? That's not really worth a whole movie. Let us know in the comments!

Ladies and gentlemen, Solo: A Star Wars Story is finally here.

The rumored film, which would have been an anthology film focused on the legendary Jedi, and with Ewn McGregor expressing interest in reprising the role for the film, was supposedly moving foraward previous year when Daldry was seemingly revealed as its director, despite the film not yet having been announced or even confirmed.

Star Wars fans are a curious bunch. Or is it time to let the classic characters become one with the force? Then there was Josh Trank's firing from the Boba Fett film.
