Shortly after its release, Trump attacked Trudeau on Twitter over what he described as the prime minister's "false statements" during the closing G7 news conference - and the president announced the US would no longer sign on.

"I don't want us to keep inflating our language", she added, saying the word "depressed" was "already a lot, coming from me", in an ironic reference to her usual unflappable appearance.
Just like Canada, the European Union is preparing counter-measures against USA tariffs on steel and aluminium imports, Merkel said.
"POTUS is not going to let a Canadian prime minister push him around on the eve of this", Kudlow said, using an acronym for president of the United States.
President Trump concluded his G7 meetings, declaring the USA has been taken advantage of for decades on trade, and assured that all of the involved countries are much more committed to fair trade with America.
Trump's tirade came before he was to leave for Singapore for his historic summit with the North Korean leader North Korea's Kim Jong Un.
When asked why she appeared so calm following the fiasco, the chancellor said that escalating the rhetoric wouldn't make things any better.
President Donald Trump will head to La Charlevoix, Quebec, on Friday, for a two-day Group of Seven (G-7) summit meeting, as tensions between the administration and its key allies worsen.
The back-on-track summit followed a whirlwind of diplomacy after Trump called off the meeting in late May.
"There are good reasons on our side to continue to fight for it but we can't count on it anymore", she said.
During a rare solo news conference earlier Saturday, Trump said he pressed for the G7 countries to eliminate all tariffs, trade barriers and subsidies in their trading practices.
"Canadians, we're polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around", Trudeau said. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!
She also spoke about Trump's suggestion that Russian Federation be readmitted to the G-7, from which it was booted after its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.
But tensions had already been seething over trade after the Trump administration confirmed on May 31 it would apply additional tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada, Mexico, and European Union countries, ending a two-month exemption period.
"I will blame them if they don't act smart and do what they have to do because they have no choice", he said.
