Walmart is under fire after its website offered T-shirts from third-party sellers with "IMPEACH 45" emblazoned across the front in big capital letters - a call to bring down the 45th US president, Donald Trump.
However while the Impeach 45 items have been removed from sale other pro-Trump items are still available on the site.
The call for a Walmart boycott seemingly picked up steam as conservative media outlets spread the word about the shirts.
Walmart sells a myriad of "Make America Great Again" items, such as hats, T-shirts and coffee mugs.
"These items were sold by third party sellers on our open marketplace, and were not offered directly by Walmart".
Walmart and Old Glory did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Teespring had their shirts pulled off the Walmart website days later.
Walmart came under fire for another incident last November when customers noticed a shirts that read, "Rope".
Neil Saunders, managing director of consulting firm GlobalData Retail said Walmart's decision to remove the anti-Trump merchandise made sense given the company's profile. "Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required", noted The Wrap.
"We're removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies", a representative for Walmart said via email.
This appears to be a partisan move for a company that has been working hard to cater to the heartland, where many Trump supporters live, and urban centers, which tend to be more Democratic.
