Last season, when rumors LeBron might opt out of the final year of his deal with Cleveland began circulating, the Lakers were immediately installed as favorites to land him. The Lakers recently signed veteran point guard Rajon Rondo, who - while maybe a bit of a head case - has plenty of experience doing this kind of thing.

Last season, rumors swirled about Lakers players being uninterested in playing for the Walton when the team was on a losing streak.

That begs the question: What are Magic and LeBron thinking? "I think guys like LeBron or myself, I haven't played with a lot of guys that make plays for me".

And with innumerable variables still to be settled before the regular season, it's impossible to predict what James will be able to accomplish with a revamped Lakers roster.

From George Mikan to Kobe Bryant, superstars have been the Lakers' lifeblood for decades.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers star recently inked a four-year, $154 million deal with the Lakers and it seems Chinatown Market wanted to get in on the ensuing drama by claiming it was fined by the National Basketball Association for "violating the league's anti-tampering rule".

LaVar Ball is about the get familiar with LeBron James.

"Unlike most free agents changing teams, LeBron is arriving with the Lakers as an all-time great", a source close to James said.

In a new look inside the Lakers' post-LeBron moves, Brian Windhorst of ESPN explains that LBJ and Magic Johnson met on the first night of free agency and reviewed the Lakers' plans. But LeBron's departure from Cleveland has also reverberated in the Eastern Conference, all but assuring that the Celtics, 76ers, and to a lesser extent the Raptors, will be locks for the top spots in the East.

When it became clear that the four-time MVP was taking his talents to Tinseltown, Rondo couldn't pass up the opportunity to team up with him and compete for a championship again.
