Kylie Jenner has been slammed for being called a "self-made billionaire" by Forbes. The magazine estimates Jenner's net worth to be roughly $900 million, making her the 27th-richest self-made woman in the United States. She is ready to break the records previously held by the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire at the age of 23.
Other netizens seem to think that Jenner deserved being labeled as a "self-made billionaire" because while she was born into a multi-millionaire family, she did work and is continuously working hard.
Dictionary.com also pointed out that the searches for "self-made" were up by 18,628 per cent on their website. "Self-made means having succeeded in life unaided", its post stated yesterday, July 11.
Kylie, at nearly 21, has an estimated $900 million to her name, thanks largely to the success of her make-up line and lip-kit specifically. In a cover story about the 20-year-old multi-millionaire, Forbes conservatively values the company at $800 million, with an estimated $330 million in sales last year.
A former producer of Real Housewives of Atlanta shared Kylie's cover on Instagram with the caption, "Being on a reality show isn't so bad, eh?" His few choice words congratulating the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner crew sparked RHOA star, Nene Leakes to comment her own opinion.
"We consider any person who built her own fortune, and didn't inherit the money, to be self-made", Forbes' methodology reads.
