Lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels says she was arrested

The attorney for porn actress Stormy Daniels says prosecutors have dropped all charges against her following her overnight arrest at an OH adult club.

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for adult film star Stormy Daniels, vowed to fight the "bogus charges" his client faces after she was apparently arrested early Thursday while performing at an OH strip club, in what he blasted as a "setup" that was "politically motivated".

"This was a setup & politically motivated". 'It reeks of desperation, ' Avenatti says Earlier, Avenatti criticized the charges as "bogus". We will vehemently contest all charges.

ABC News reached out to Avenatti who declined to elaborate beyond his tweets.

There's still some confusion about what exactly happened inside the Sirens Gentleman's Club in Columbus, Ohio last night.

Upon arrest, Daniels was charged with three counts of "illegally operating sexually oriented business" and knowingly touching a patron, online court records show.

'A customer touched her in a non-sexual manner and she was subsequently arrested for allowing the customer to touch her in a non-sexual manner, ' he said.

Daniels allegedly began holding her breasts against one female detective's face, before then "forcing" the face of a male officer into her chest and "smacking his face with her bare breasts".

The documents did not indicate if the officers were in plain clothes or in uniform at the time.

Avenatti also took to Twitter to blast the arrest.

The porn star is due to appear in court on Friday. Curry said she has never seen anyone get arrested in the 2 years she has worked at Sirens, nor has she had any experience with the law while on the job.

Representatives for the Columbus Division of Police did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment.

Avenatti said Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, was arrested while "performing the same act she has performed across the nation at almost a hundred strip clubs".

"We are confident she will be cleared of all charges", Avenatti said. Avenatti tweeted. "They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!"

Daniels planned to be in Columbus Wednesday and Thursday as part of a nationwide tour, Avenatti said.

Her lawyer said he expected her to be released on bail soon.

Daniels has said she had sex with President Donald Trump in 2006, when he was married, which Trump has denied.

Cohen allegedly paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her sexual encounter with Mr. Trump.

She said she signed the agreement just before the 2016 presidential election.
