The most prevalent of the changes is the shortening of the schedule. The Canadian Open will now be played before the U.S. Open instead of a month after.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic is scheduled for June 24-30 at the Detroit Golf Club.

Horschel teamed with Scott Piercy (also in the Barbasol Championship field) to win this year's Zurich Classic of New Orleans in late April, the TOUR's only two-man team event.

The PGA play-offs will now start from Aug 8-11 with the Northern Trust, which will be played near NY in 2019 and Boston in 2020 as the cities exchange host rights each year, rather than each hosting a play-off event as they will this year.

Houston and Greenbrier are to return to the fall portion of the schedule in 2019. TPC Boston will continue as a Playoffs site every other year, rotating with the Northern Trust.

The major changes include moving The Players Championship from May to March and the PGA Championship from August to May.

The 2018-19 season tees off October 4-7 with the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif. The Players Championship will now move back to March, its former home before 2007.

The PGA Championship will be May 16-19 at Bethpage Black on Long Island, splitting part of the Texas swing - the AT& T Byron Nelson in Dallas will be the week before the PGA, and the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial will be the week after the PGA.

While The Open, to be played at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland next year, becomes the last of the four majors, it will be a mad dash to the finish for PGA Tour players.

For now, though, Monahan says the US Tour is servicing the Australian market as best it can with this year's golf World Cup and the 2019 Presidents Cup to be held in Melbourne. "We feel strongly that together, we have created a schedule that will heighten interest in all tournaments while further elevating the FedExCup Playoffs".

Here's the schedule in minuscule print; for the complete list, tap here. Valhalla will host the 2018 Boys Junior PGA Championship July 31 - August 3. The Ryder Cup in 2020 will be September 25-27 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. Also, The Players Championship moves up two months, from mid-May to March 14-17 in Ponte Vedra Fla., and the Fed Ex Cup playoffs shrinks from four events to three, culminating in the Tour Championship on August 22-25 in Atlanta.

Perhaps Australia's best shot at securing an official U.S. tour event is to slot into the Tour's Asia swing in October - when events take place in Malaysia, Korea and China.
