Unboxing the 500 Million LE PS4 Pro

A Limited Edition 2TB PS4 Pro Is Being Released To Celebrate 500 Million PlayStations Sold

PlayStation Celebrates 500 Million Console Sales With Limited Edition PS4 Pro

You will be able to pre-order it from 14 August from Amazon and other retailers.

The best-looking PS4 Pro yet is coming out later this month, but if you want one you'll need to act fast. A 500 Million limited edition Gold headset featuring that same dark blue translucent color will also be around for $99,99, but both of these devices will only be available in limited quantities.

It will be available for £449.99 in the United Kingdom (€499 in Central Europe) and comes in a special collector's edition translucent box.

Joining the ever-expanding collection of special edition PS4 consoles from Sony is the PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition. Keep an eye out for sales to start in a couple weeks on August 24.

Every time a special edition console is released I do wonder who buys them, I can't see the point of them myself. On the front of the console you'll find a commemorative copper plate with the limited edition serial number etched into it.

I'm not into the accessories as much, but dang, the copper detailing on the console sure is nice.

For starters, the 500 Million Limited Edition features a translucent design in a catching dark blue paint job with matching DualShock 4 controller.

In 1994, the PlayStation made its debut in Japan and, as of today, Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially sold over 500 million PlayStation family systems total. The matching DualShock 4 will appear in Europe on the same day, but in North America in early September 2018. These links leave Siliconera.
