Yerry Mina relishing Everton challenge

Despite disclosing the transfer fee, Barça did not reveal at what price the buy-back clause is set, but a report from Marca has claimed that it is €60m (£53.9m).

Yerry Mina joined from Barcelona in a deal believed to be worth around £28 million, whilst Everton also completed the signing of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.

It was during Mina's negotiations that they discussed the additional progress for Andre Gomes, and luckily concluded a deal for the Portuguese in time.

World Cup star Yerry Mina has explained why he joined Everton from FC Barcelona on Deadline Day.

Bernard, 25, was out of contract after leaving Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in June.

While Bernard was finalising his transfer at Everton's Finch Farm training ground a club delegation led by the director of football, Marcel Brands, concluded deals for Mina and Gomes in Barcelona.

Chelsea had looked into adding the Brazilian to their squad, and even offered him a contract, but ultimately Bernard was swayed by the chance of more regular football under the guidance of Silva at Everton.

Both sides have reached a deal and it will shortly be made official.

"For me, it was really good to speak to him because I know how good he is and I feel motivated to work with him and to play for Everton, a great club".

Everton manager Marco Silva has said he is excited about the impact new midfield signings Andre Gomes and Bernard can make at Goodison Park.

"I did not need any convincing to come here".

"We were dealing with Barcelona with [the transfer of Yerry] Mina, and I know the player very well".
