He added: "Mental health problems have a massive impact on the workforce, and young people who come into jobs might not be prepared to enter a high pressure environment".

"I think it's just about educating young people that it's OK not to be ideal, nobody's flawless, it's OK not to do fantastic in everything".

The PM's announcement comes a day after the National Audit Office said the government may be "even further away than it thought" from achieving its goal of equal access to physical and mental health services for young people.

The C.P.H.is observing Mental Health Week under the theme "Young People in Mental Health, in a Changing World" and nurse Morris-Willis said, sensitising the youth on the issue of mental health is critical.

Half of all mental illness begins by the age of 14, and the prime minister has made several other announcements around children and young people's mental health today on World Mental Health Day. But it also means using highly refined assessment skills to be able to pick up subtle changes in your patient's behavior, to know when to notify the physician that there is a significant change in condition without having a lot of equipment to help you "make your case" to the doctor.
