BOSTON That "Pocahontas" taunt must have rankled. Warren did not use a commercial service for her DNA analysis, according to The Globe, but rather Bustamante, who is on the scientific advisory board for Ancestry. "Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career".
'She faked her heritage for years and used that. "Period", Jay Westbrook, a professor at the University of Texas Austin School of Law, says in the video.
The analysis was done by Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor noted for his work on tracking population migration via DNA analysis.
In a five-minute, campaign-style video, Warren asks him: "The president likes to call my mom a liar". "What do the facts say?"
Bustamante responds, "The facts suggest that you absolutely have a Native American ancestor in your pedigree". He says the test carries an error rate of "less than one in 1,000".
The professor concluded that most of the senator's DNA shows European ancestry, but there is a Native-American segment.
Clips of Trump and other Republicans deriding Warren for what they assumed was her false claim about Native ancestry are interwoven with the senator and her brothers recounting the family lore that traces their ancestry back to a Cherokee great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith. That would make Warren 1/32nd Native American.
But if her ancestor is 10 generations back, that could mean she's just one-512th Native American, something that could further excite her critics instead of placating them.
Warren was referring to Trump's challenge made during a political rally in Montana on July 5th.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., (left) announced on Friday that she had sent a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission concerning what she said were Trump's "reckless comments on market-moving economic data prior to their public release".
Warren also indicated she hadn't forgotten about Trump's promise in July. "Because we're in the #MeToo generation, we have to do it gently", he said.
Despite a total lack of evidence, Trump's attacks on Warren have already convinced millions of his supporters that she somehow gained an unfair advantage through the affirmative action programs they despise. "But you know what, I like you".
"I respect the distinction". I remember - and here's the verdict. In August, she's posted 10 years of tax returns online.
Warren replied that it's time "for women to go to Washington to fix our broken government, and that includes a woman at the top". She possesses 12 times more Native American blood than a white person from Great Britain, the report found, and 10 times more than a white person from Utah.
