Joel Embiid: Celtics vs Sixers Isn’t A Rivalry, “They Always Kick Our Ass”

I think we will be really fantastic on the court. Often compared to James Harden over his lone season at the University of Washington, Fultz looked like a flawless backcourt complement to the enigma formally known as Ben Simmons, who could effectively play at a high level both on and off the ball alongside the position this wonder.

The team boasts two of the league's best young stars in All-Star center Joel Embiid and rookie of the year point guard Ben Simmons. The Celtics played with a lot of energy at the end of the game and the Sixers looked resigned to losing the game.

He admitted to having flashbacks about what happened on opening night last season in Cleveland, when he was injured going up for a lob pass against the Cavaliers in the opening minutes. Philly, who they had no issues with previous year, will be the first team to take them on this season. He needs to start low on the block and take the feeds that come to him. Then when we were able to take away their transition points we made it tough on them.

The debate on social media Tuesday night was competitive. Because he's a guy that could be playing 32, 34 minutes a night, starting, and playing a lot for ... for a lot of places.

"I just had a big smile when they announced my name again". This season, even with injuries, the Sixers will have JJ Redick and Landry Shamet to provide scoring, McConnell bringing the energy and guys like Amir Johnson to provide steady defense.

Because this is not a rivalry - at least according to Joel Embiid.

Marcus Morris has never lacked for confidence when it comes to his ability to play in the National Basketball Association, feeling as though he is a starter in this league even if his minutes played suggests otherwise.

But the ball deflected off Embiid's hands, off the glass and in the basket. Like 2017, Embiid worked out with Drew Hanlen in Los Angeles.

If Brown sticks with the plan he originally outlined and makes it a priority to use Fultz as much as possible as a point guard, he should get more of the "incredible" Fultz and less of the passive kid reluctant to shoot outside the paint.

"I think it's too soon to say", Al Horford said.

This is not really a concern for the Celtics because we all know the kind of player that he is and since this is only his first game since the surgery, things are expected to be just fine. It's bully ball. It's one dribble, two dribble, gather-step.

There is no love-lost between these two rivals either after their 2018 playoff series, with the Celtics coming out on top. The 52-30 record was the Sixers' best mark since going 56-26 in 2000-01.

Markelle Fultz's first NBA start did not come in the easiest of circumstances - in the national spotlight, at TD Garden, against an excellent team who has the Sixers' number.
