Nick Friedell is the Chicago Bulls beat reporter for ESPN Chicago.

He is travelling with the team and was at Madison Square Garden for Friday's game against the New York Knicks.

As play resumed following a timeout with 2:28 remaining in the period, it was announced that Cousins had been assessed a technical foul during the break, and then subsequently ejected. He doesn't have to rush back from his injury and gets to take his time knowing that he's on the best team in the National Basketball Association.

But the big man got involved some controversy was ejected against the Knicks after rowing with the referee Scott Foster from the bench and he received a technical.

The confrontation was described as "heated" and led to the eventual ejection.

Warned to stop the back-and-forth with Kanter, Cousins turned his attention to Foster, who sent him to the locker room early.

Cousins also became the third player in the last 15 season to get tossed out in a game he didn't play.

Head coach Steve Kerr still has some things to figure out about the incident. He was then thrown out of the game.

Looks like DeMarcus Cousins is having fun with this situation and making fun of himself.

Cousins has been in the midst of recovering from a torn Achilles, which has sidelined him since January. There is still no target date for his return, but Warriors personnel are pleased with what they have seen.
