A Day in the Life of a Red Dead Redemption 2 NPC

Rockstar has announced that it is working on an issue that is affecting Red Dead Redemption 2. These are now the only ways to avoid encountering the glitch.

I sat down for almost 10 hours and tried to break the walls of the game's systems and side content, complex and robust alike, before I felt that the game let me explore the open world freely. If any Red Dead Redemption 2 players have done this, then the aforementioned characters will only appear in camp when they have a mission for the player to complete.

However, according to Rockstar Support, the glitch is caused by using the Retry Checkpoint feature during Chapter 2's Polite Society, Valentine Style mission.

In order to check it out, ZarCoxTV admits that players will need to have completed campaigns bordering on Mexico, and will require a lot of patience, as well as being positively loaded up with stamina tonics, health tonics and food. If the player fails any portion of the mission they should abandon and restart mission, or load a save before the mission failed. All Companions will return to the Camp at the beginning of Chapter 4. We are aware of the issue and are now working on a fix to be included in an upcoming Title Update. Yes, some don't like the rather tedious "grind" nature that the game has, but overall, it's gone down well and is looking likely to take more than a few "game of the year" awards.

What just happened? Red Dead Redemption 2's invisible barriers and land masses were no match for gamers determined to explore south of the border.
