Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello was the big victor at the MTV EMAs gala in Spain on Sunday, while Janet Jackson used her acceptance speech for a life-time achievement award to take a stand for women's rights. The Africa Act category is indicative of our commitment to elevate and showcase Africa's collective talent and potential on a global scale.

He rose 13 places this year on the DJ Mag Top 100 poll to secure the #15 position and he was also just awarded Best Swedish Act at the MTV EMAs this past weekend. The winners are among a generation of young people who are tackling the world's toughest problems - including fighting for environmental protection, refugee rights, ending child marriage, mental health support and LGBTQ+ equality - through music, storytelling and digital media.

One of many stars to raise awareness of the movement via awards ceremonies this year, Janet also used her acceptance speech for the Billboard Icon Award in May to hail survivors who had spoken out against abuse. The awards are held in a different European city each year, with winners selected by fans across the continent.

Cabello had opened the show hosted by American actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld with a rendition of her Latin-influenced "Havana".

One of the hits of the night was Spanish Flamenco-inspired artist Rosalia singing "Malamente" after rolling on stage in a huge truck.
