As a result of the play, Platt has been suspended indefinitely while also being banned from Fitchburg's campus.

During the waning minutes of the 84-75 win by Nichols College, Platt had the ball on the offensive end.

Nichols athletic director Chris Colvin told TMZ that Tenaglia is OK and that Fitchburg State athletics director Matthew Burke called to apologize for Platt's actions.

Platt, a criminal justice major, is seen walking away as Tengalia is writhing on the floor in pain. "The player involved has been indefinitely suspended from the team and barred from campus, effective immediately".

A Fitchburg State basketball player has been suspended indefinitely and kicked off campus after he delivered a risky and flagrant shot to an opponent's head Tuesday night.

Fitchburg State announced Platt's punishment via statement Wednesday afternoon, saying that it's "appalled" by his conduct.

"The best we can gather was that it was frustration", Divito said about Platt's elbow.

"The MASCAC and Fitchburg State University take this incident very seriously", MASCAC commissioner Angela Baumann said in a statement. His behaviour goes against the MASCAC's mission which includes good sportsmanship.
