O'Malley said there was only moderate ligament damage and that following a period of rehabilitation, LeVert was expected to return to full strength and resume all basketball activities without any limitations this season.

Brooklyn Nets star Caris LeVert went down with a sickening injury on Monday (local time) against the Timberwolves. Before getting hurt, Caris had put up 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.

LeVert was injured with 3.7 seconds remaining in the second quarter when he landed awkwardly while challenging a drive to the basket by Minnesota's Josh Okogie.

Replays of the gruesome injury were not shown in the arena.

LeVert had injuries in college that ended his junior and senior seasons. He toured the country interviewing with teams before the 2016 NBA Draft even as he worked his rehab after that final surgery, fitting in sessions in one city or another. "Guys were crying. It was really that horrific just to see".

LeVert missed the first 20 games of his rookie season while still recovering from foot surgery before making his delayed debut on December 7, 2016.

The details of LeVert's injury are yet to be confirmed, but we will update you as information is made available.

"There was really just no words", teammate Joe Harris said after the game. Heading into Monday's game in Minnesota, LeVert was averaging 19 points, 3.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
